Dr. Richard Wichmann advises on general energy law. He supports companies in the areas of energy trading and compliance as well as in (project) financing via capital markets. He has extensive experience in the preparation of capital market publications and in cooperation with BaFin. Mr. Wichmann assists (energy-intensive) companies in cost optimisation and the assertion of exemptions/reductions of incidental energy costs vis-à-vis authorities. Knowledge of media, competition and corporate law rounds off the range of consulting services.
Law studies at the Humboldt-University of Berlin and the Universities of Strasbourg and Caen. First State exam in Law with honors. Legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Berlin with foreign station in Beijing. Doctoral studies at the Humboldt University (with Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Schwintowski) and at the UC Berkeley, graduated summa cum laude and awarded by the Foundation “Unternehmensfinanzierung und Kapitalmärkte”. Trained as a mediator.
Several years' experience in a major German law firm in the field of energy law. Lecturer at the Humboldt University. Worked in the German Bundestag (Committee on European Union Affairs) and in a medium-sized law firm with notary's office in the field of commercial and real estate law. Research assistant at the Chair of Commercial, Economic, Labour and Comparative Law (Prof. Dr. Windbichler) at the Humboldt University.
